Decided to make a short film showing some aerobatic demonstrations inside the default flight simulator x glider, since there are so very few gliding videos on youtube at the moment. I love gliding in flight simulator x!

In this video:

Scenery: Medium Low (with Aerosoft Mega Airport Heathrow)

Aircraft: Glider
FSX Camera: Ezdok Walk

System Specifications:

CPU: Pentium D Processor @ 2.80Ghz
RAM: 4GB DDR2 Ram
GPU: nVidia 8500GTX Super
OS: Windows vista home premium

The video was recorded with Fraps in a multiplayer session (TBFSS.COM) since I always find that I increase FPS in multiplayer sessions.

  • landed 2 high mate remember this all white sky high all red your dead nd 2 red and 2 white your good

  • The concept of landing a glider is different than landing a powered aircraft. In a glider there usually won't be any thresh hold lights because you won't land on a concrete runway, it will be on a small grassy air strip. I aimed for a touch down on the grassy area, not the runway.

  • the landing wasn´t so good but the video was good

  • That's how you land a glider... ;p

  • oi, hargreavesjn123

you're a prick so get it right next time faggit twat.......

    the end.

  • @hargreavesjn123 Landing a glider is much different than landing a powered aircraft. You don't follow the proper glideslope, you just do what you need to get down and land.

  • The lights have nothing to do with his specific approach. (grass landing, not on the runway for which the lights are applicable and in a glider.)

  • Nice!

Looks like a nice Multiplayer server too ;)

  • No it isn't, the correct airspeed is 55-60 knots and the landing airspeed is 65-70 knots. This is so you can use approxametely 50% air brake with a very low pitch attitude. You don't use any flaps either on landing - they are used for thermals and sink areas. Also on landing, you hold off the runway until the plane lowers itself on to the runway itself (stall) to reduce ground run.

  • yes, you're right.... That's how you land a glider. I (a friend of mine is writing right now) am a glider pilot.

  • yes but it wasnt good
