Goa Chitra - By Mr. Victor Hugo Gomes

"..........................................................................." SEEING IS BELIEVING! Can't say anything because I am truly at loss of words to describe what my dearest friend, Mr. Victor Hugo Gomes has done to retain the unique identity of Goan culture, artifacts & traditions ... I wonder when the Government of Goa will recognize his efforts and award him for what he has achieved single-handedly and of course along with his beloved wife Mrs. Aldina Gomes. I salute you, Mr. Victor Hugo Gomes. I request all tourists visiting Goa NOT to visit & forget "Goa Chitra" after reaching safely & soundly to your country ... most IMPORTANTLY tell your fellow countrywomen and countrymen to visit "Goa Chitra" whenever they visit Goa. I also salute all former and present Goans who have and are currently serving in Indian Armed Forces, Valmiki Faleiro for his ever first book, "Patriotism In Action" and least but not the last, Mrs. J. [FOOTNOTE: Many prominent citizens spoke about Mr. Valmiki Faleiro. I was utterly shocked and surprised that NO ONE spoke about his contribution to make our Konkani language as the Official language of our beloved Goa. So much so he had to sacrifice his Mayor's chair because one Churchill Alemao burnt the National Flag on 19th December years ago in the absence of Mr. Valmiki Faleiro as the road leading out from Mungul (?) where he was staying was totally blocked by felled trees. I will never forget that day & date because I was having a small party for my friends in Benaulim and suddenly Mr. Alexio Sequeira sent somebody to get all of us, including Norman & Mario Sequeira out from Benaulim (Lloyd Coutinho's shack) and saw that all of us reached safely home!].
