This is video of us hand feeding the baby lovebirds with their older 'sis', Chicken-Little (who is one year old now and from our first clutch of babies). When Chicken saw the food syringe she regressed a little and wanted me to feed her too! It was really cute, so I thought I'd share... So far Chicken has been SO good with the babies and just loves to spend time preening and baby-sitting them. More baby lovebird growth progress videos to come!

  • Hi there! I was wondering where you got the syringes from? I tried a pharmacy and all they had were basic standard medical syringes. We are feeding babies now and it would be a lot easier with a syringe like yours.

    Thank you,

    Sarah and Troy

  • @CrazyHorseChick1989 Hi Sarah and Troy and thank you for your question. I purchased the syringes from eBay I believe and they are the curved tip kind which are easier for feeding smaller breed babies like lovebirds. You can also buy these types of syringes from specialty online pet stores. I did a Google search and got prices first which led me to eBay as they had a good price on them at the time. Hope that helps.

  • So adorable! I think Chicken wants to be fed just like a baby too!! :)) She is saying,, hey, I am your #1 baby!!! so cute how Chicken supervises the feedings and hangs out with all the babies! She really is a great and loving bird!

  • @megangatita Chicken is the best older sister. She is so gentle and loves preening and joining in on the handfeedings! She knows she's my #1 baby. It's amazing how sweet she has become as she's gotten older. Every day I love her a little bit more! ;)

  • @PootersPlace Thank you so much. I was actually able to order them through my DENTIST of all places :P

I love your videos. I hope our babies are as special as yours are <3

  • I hate this

  • How long does it take them to hatch, Do you Know?

  • Awwwwwwww!!! soooo cuteee! I have also a lovebird! :D

  • i don't know what is more important in keeping love bird babies alive ....the food one feeds them ......keeping them warm.....not over feeding ....not separating them from their parents...whatever it is, my success rate is about 30% alive and 70% dead...and their parents rate is not that much better, they are at 50% to 50%
