In this 3rd issue, Mike shows a variation of tani otoshi, with a single leg. This can be a good technique when playing bigger, stronger players who play strong to one side and break your posture. The technique finishes in the same position as the last 2 issues.

  • @CalvinistChurch I'm sorry you feel this way. I'm actually from Brazil. Instead of attacking me personally, please explain why can't be this considered Kata Otoshi, not as an official technique, but as a known variation, just like Yoko Kata Guruma Otoshi?

  • @rhcorr,

your attempt at criticism only shows your own ignorance of judo. You both fail. Typical U.S. judo, no wonder this sorry nation has never done better than bronze in the olympics.

  • "Tani Otoshi Variation"?

Congratulations... you've just invented Kata Otoshi !

  • @Calvinizur Yes you can, just not on competition..Just because it's removed from competition, it does not mean you can not do it during randory, in brazilian gayjitsu matches

  • NEW RULES NOOOOOO LEEEEEEEGS

  • @billysue2 True. When I was a yonkyu in Judo, I could walk through every BB in the Aikido dojo I trained at. Needless to say, I quit Aikido, and stuck with Judo.

  • too bad you can do this shit anymore

  • @billysue2 You're qualifing your statement on limited expertise, time spent studing how not to fight? So, asking you to prove the technique useless I think would be educational for whom? Maybe the best answer is, clearly you won't.

  • @magcharles1 really, since unarmed combat was rare in any war ever(they always had access to some weapon)and they never sparred in classical jj,most techs werent pressure tested, thats why judo whupped the trad styles in contests.I studied a couple of classical styles, hakama and all the other bullshit and not 1 person in the system could fight.

  • @billysue2 Hello??? First, the samurai never practiced anything that wasn't combat proven...so, why not prove it's wrong??? LOL!!
