Ronnie was my best friend in the whole world for a few years during my childhood, until my Dad's job moved us to a different state. Ronnie played drums and we used to jam a lot. He also turned out to be a fantastic painter as evidenced by this montage of his work. Ronnie passed away suddenly of heart failure in April 2010 just after he put the finishing touches on his painting he titled "In The Beginning." This montage is my meager tribute to a guy who lived, loved, and brought some happiness into the world. R.I.P. Ronnie.

  • Nice tribute Cuz. I still remember watching Ronnie beating those skins like it was yesterday and wishing that I could play like him. He was one great drummer. His paintings are beautiful. Our loss, Heaven's gain.

  • @StarHomer Thanks Tim. He WAS a pretty darn good drummer, and even spent a period of time as a working musician until thing started happening for him with his painting. He is totally self-taught which, to me, makes his paintings even more valuable. The hair on the throat of that one wolf howling looks like you could just bury your fingers in it and let it run between them. I found his obituary while I was trying to find him to show him some of OUR work. You're right about Heaven's gain.

  • @carneyart Thank you for your comment. My friend Ronnie had a very unique relationship with the Lord as He allowed Ronnie to transpose what he saw with his eyes onto canvas with such impeccable clarity. Ronnie loved painting scenes from the Grand Canyon because he said, "that is some of God's best work." I have to believe that God is using him NOW to paint those beautiful firey sunsets in the sky which we see from time to time...
