Wow! I finally realised there are two (very) different versions of this tunes called Watermelon Man.
I've heard the one from Herbie Hancock's "Head Hunters" many times, but I first heard this version done like reggae by a 60's group, "Jazz Jamaica." I almost like the reggae cover better, but this original is awesome!
i played a different version of this in a jazz band i was in 2 years ago. if you listen to the original by Herbie Hancock it sounds nothing like this :P
