Many people have problems making a bootfloppy on their PC containing the latest operatingsystem v2.0 for the Akai S2000 sampler. Get the latest Akai S2000 OS v2.0 from the Akai website and follow the instructions in this video. This video was made with Cinelerra. Music composed and played by Glenn Uhlenbeek

  • thank you, so much. my s2000 shipped in little more than the cardboard box and two pieces of styrofoam. i thought the drive was bad, but luckely the disk provided was only a sample disk! whipped up a system disk thanks to this video, and it works!

    Cheers

  • ah its ok i found out lol it was simple cheers

  • Hi, random question, do you know how i can format a floppy disk on the s2000 sampler? because i want to save or copy some samples from another akai disk... thanks

  • thanks, by the way - dont know if it's just my s2000 but any idea why the waveforms that are loaded don't sound at all like the waveforms names they're given? for example the sinewave sounds like a pulse and the square sounds like a saw. I thought it might be something to do with the loop points but after tweaking them, I couldn't get the right waveform sound. thanks.

  • I am glad you succeeded!

  • Hi, just an update, But I actually got it to work (the disk i made using windows xp, windows me boot-disk) the fault in the end was the floppy drive!! Thanks for the vid, it DOES work :)

  • Dont use windowsXP. but windows98. In my case I used a windows98 on vmware. execute bootme.exe in windows98 to write the windows ME boot floppy. Also copy s2000v2.exe to the same windows ME boot floppy. Leave the floppy in the computer and reboot. Then follow the rest of the video instructions.

  • ok yes, I did use 2 floppies, Im wondering if it's because I'm not using windows 98 (like in this vid) but winXP
