East Lancs Railway Diesel Gala 17th October 2009!

On Saturday 17th October 2009, ELR operated a diesel gala using there own diesel fleet.

In service was:

(Home Fleet)

+ Class 24 D5054 "Phil Southern"
+ Class 35 D7076
+ Class 37 109
+ Class 37 418 "Pectinidae"
+ Class 37 901 "Mirlees Pioneer"
+ Class 40 145 "East Lancs Railway"
+ Class 55 022 "Royal Scots Grey"
+ Class 101 DMU (with Bubble Car)
ELR Class 50 015 "Valiant" was unable to run the event due to works being done it.

(Visiting Fleet)
+ HANSON Class 50 008 "Thunderer"
Other booked visiting locos (31190 and 47270) were unable to attend the event.

We visit a range of locations such as Summerseat, Irwell Vale and Ramsbottom.

Fantastic video and 5* naturally. Tremendous memories of a great day on a truly awesome and top notch preserved railway. I will return there in 2010 for sure, and keep on going back for more. Thanks too for your excellent company that day, along with the others. Bring on more of these days.
