Assalam-u-alaikum, AnAhmadi i think that even if you were to say that the word "but" comes in the category of words that are considered "negative" it does not have to mean that the clause before "but" is a negative clause. What is in fact true is that the clause after "but" usually elucidates some attribute that is mentioned in the clause before "but" to complete the meaning of the sentence.

WaLaakin does not mean that the first part of the ayat is negative, not in the context of the verse, you are applying english grammatical standards to Arabic, Bring me an Arabic speaking scholar who tells you otherwise and I will except your point no problem

Br. yousafuk2007! burden of proof is on you that in Arabic grammer "Walaakin" is not used to put two opposing values in the same sentence. Merely saying this is English grammatical standard wont suffice.
