  • i dont think there should be a rule...

if someone is that great they shouldnt be held back.

  • well japan took the gold anyway... so japan has nothing to worry about the rules... and shizuka had her dream come true and finished her career with an olympic gold

  • yuna kim fans are obseseed whit mao thisis so sad....

  • This is hard issue....

without a rule, things will go wrong.

but even with the rules, things can go wrong too...

rrrr... i just wish she was able to compete at that time!

But yet, i loved how Arakawa won the gold too....

  • Internet addiction in bad meaning

  • @linakabra

you can't judge the decisions of people you don't know ...

  • @nicole30204 weel, Mao is very different . Yu Na seems like she has no motivation now, is like she won everithing and now she wants to act sing etc.

But if it where Mao´s case i think she really LOVES to skate, and she even challenge herself with every exibition, something that few skater tend to do. She is a fighter, and she really has athlete spirit. i see more heart in Mao´s skating than Yu Na skating(and i really like Yu Na, but is a different kind of skating).

  • @linakabra probably you're right but I'm happy she wasnt in Turin. The she would won olympiv gold, GPF and the world title (because then I'm sure that judges would give her the gold instead ANdo. They alway are more generous for olympic gold medalists) before 17th birthdays. it wouldn't be good for her because she wouldn't have any motivation after that- just like Yuna now. She won everything and don't even take part Grand Prix

  • I disagree with Christine Brennan totally, 15 is too young, and if 19 is too old to compete at the Olympics then how to do you explain the likes of Joannie Rochette winning bronze at the age of 24. The fact is, most young athletes (at the age of 16) don't win, and then continue to compete as adults.

  • Mao was so cute here.

  • I believe there are beautiful sentiments and emotions only middle aged(?!) skaters can deliver, by which they absolutely attract and draw the audience in. I prefer maturity to exuberance.

  • she would win those olimpics.

  • she would've got the gold medal

  • no, Tara was born on June 10th so she made the cut off - she was close to 16 years old when she won the gold though.

  • What about Yuna? She wanted to go to the olympics but was too young as well.

Oh well they finally made it to the Olympics a few days ago and Yuna took gold while Mao took silver. They are awesome.

  • Um what? This is a youtube video not a "forum"

  • Obviously not 1996 since Tara Lipinski won gold at 15 y/o

  • :35 "...completed 7 triple jumps in less than a minute" O_o

Afterwards, did she sit in the middle of the ice and crochet until the music ended? lol

  • childish. ignore comments
