This is a great series...most people just upload a video of the highway. You really dug in. Thanks. And no, your narration was fine man.

I plan to head to Centalia to make my own little documentary one day, do you have any tips that would be helpful for me?

@AshKetchumRawkz: Not really. Just plan on spending a whole day down there! :) Don't waste too much time on the subsided highway though. These videos had me do that and I did not cover as much as I did during my later series. I do recommend going to any and all Centralia websites you can find and get what you can for a "map" of sorts to let you know where everything is.
If you can get there during winter on a sunny day, you will get GREAT footage of the smoke venting on the road, etc.

damn this town is full of tourists; it is totally killing the atmosphere

@Fix4Sarah:
That is why I tried to go in the middle of the week. So that I would be less "noticed" as well as getting the town itself rather than all the tourists. Talking to Carl Wormer, he said that it gets really busy with tourists on the weekends. That is what I wanted to avoid.

You can enjoy your life until you get cancer from breathing in all that crap.

Maybe, maybe not. the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental protection has concluded that the air is safe and airborne mercury levels are almost immeasurable. It certainly is far safer than living next to a steel plant.
Also, the remaining residents are in their 70's and 80's. I've met and spoken to several of them. They sure are quite healthy and active. One gentleman in his 80's looks far younger than that and does a lot of physical work quite effortlessly.
