  • You definitely have the most comprehensive golf information website on the net. Your review of golf books and swing theories are especially informative. Do you happen to know what the Paul Bertholy swing is all about? I am aware of a couple of people doing some static exercises here on youtube, but they don't explain the method of the Bertholy swing itself. Thank you.

  • I haven't studied Paul Bertholy's books

    Jeff.

  • Brilliantly explained and who would want to be a hitter after seeing your explanations .IMO beginners are hitters and Pros Swingers (barring exceptions ).

One question about pressure point #1 . Besides keeping the left arm straight on the back swing , dont you feel that it adds to the club head velocity by pushing left on the left hand thumb ?

I feel this could be a reason why I am able to genrate more speed with both hands on the grip , compared to swinging with "just my left hand"?

  • @vikramg2

Hitting is very suitable for inflexible golfers who cannot perform a fluid/complete pivot action.

The right hand does apply push-pressure at PP#1 during the early-mid downswing (when the power package is still intact) and that helps move the power package down more effectively/fluidly. It therefore does contribute to swing power.

    Jeff.
