Asalieri Answers #9: Name On My List

Well, he's done it. The AVGN has finally crossed that bridge. I speak of course of his completely selfless and humanitarian project where he intends to feed the homeless... oh wait no, he's asking for 75,000 dollars to er... further finance his movie. Wow. Aren't we all supposed to, I dunno... film within our means?

Of course he's nearly done and it hasn't been even a week. In these troubled economic times where people are lining up to protest our shitty economy, that is one hell of a feat.

Sad, when I started editing this this morning, he was at 55k. He's over 60k now. What a world.

Anyhow, I have a bit of 'begging' of my own to do, but unlike the rest of the internet, I'm just going to plug my own product for sale. No one is going to get a beg-a-thon from me, just a simple sales pitch and some tangible items for you to buy or ignore. At least with *MY* drive, you buy something you might want and we both go our merry ways. I won't sell you a spot on some list no one will care about but you. A keychain you can use, a magnet decorates whatever metallic thing you stick it to, hell, my perlers can even be used as card protectors for you card sharks. Your name on a list? well, you'd think those come with bragging rights, but no, really, you just paid to have your name mentioned/printed by someone with a modicum of notoriety. Hope you feel special when you realize you're going to share that list with 200-500 other people. Won't be quite so impressive then.

I thought i'd retain the respect i'd gained for the AVGN after my last encounter with his camp... but this just killed it for me. I'm not going to be supporting the official release nor will I watch the movie. I'm boycotting it to preserve 9 bucks AND on principle, too. Knock yourselves out, people.

So yeah, that's the long and short of it. On the internet, we're all beggars. Whether it's for attention, notoriety, money, or all of the above, that's what you'll always get. I hope you'll want a keychain with that. I really do.

You know...what bothers me about this is that internet gaming sites like Giantbomb and Roosterteeth have a donation button, in which your only reward for donating ten dollars a month to them is to see their videos about an hour early. Isn't that the same thing?
