    its because of the music. if it had suspensefull music you would feel different.. its sad what hollywood does to the average veiwwer these days.

    I actually just finished the movie a few hours ago =) It was certainly depressing and I agree that it was sinister. It's definitely one of my favorites now.

    No I recommend - it is one of my favs and not depressing at all just because it is a bit sinister. The film as a whole is fab.

    I want to watch this movie, but someone recently told me it was incredibly depressing and 'the meaning of the story makes you kind of want to kill yourself'. She said it was beautiful, but not recommended. Thoughts?
