I am not that much supporter of socialism, but Kim Il Sung really had an vision of free and equal Korea, he really fought the Japanese and American imperialists. While socialism was still strong, he was really building his nation.

@texman210 he wasn't always fat. if you see pictures of him in the 30's, 40's and early 50's he definitely was not. though he was well fed his obesity had more to do with an illness than being overweight. often times if you were starved especially in childhood it can damage your digestive system and make you look fat regardless. which would have been very likely since he was born during a violent time in korea as well.

It's amazing how thin he looked in these portrayals, yet he and his son were fat. That's where all the food in North Korea went to: the mouths of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il. And everyone else is thinner than rails, practically starving.
