No, he is being investigated because he is violating the civil rights of American citizens. Using illegal law enforcement methods is not effective it results in multiple cases being dropped and lost after they are appealed. That is the story you do not hear about Sheriff Joe. That is why the DEA and ICE no longer want to work with him because his raids result in bad justice.

Sheriff Arpaio is a godsend to Arizona. If he wasn't so committed to his job, our state would be overrun with gangs and illegal aliens, like California. The Feds are going after the "good guys" like Congressman Franks said (although illegal alien sympathizers would disagree). Kudos to Franks for defending Arpaio for doing his job. Most Arizonans would also agree (except the law-breaking ones or those who want "no borders" from Mexico).

Lou, it doesn't take guts to stand up when you have the Majority on your side. It tales guts to stand up when your the you are the minority, at least in Arizona, politically speaking, or any other way. If you want to destroy violent cartels, demonizing your gardener is not going to do it. As long as Americans are willing to pay hard cash for illegal drugs, there will always be violence. Many of these people you marginalized are just as much victims because of American addictions.
