@NoodleBoy26 PROXY was programmed to try and kill the Apprentice at random intervals by Darth Vader. In the game he attacked to try and fulfill his primary programming. In the novel he was corrupted by the computer core of Raxus Prime and wanted to start a droid rebellion. The crashing of the Star Destroyer in both game and novel involved PROXY's core being erased but his main personality intact.
