  • awesome!! this is what i was looking for...is this a faster version or something? cause this is pretty fast compared to what we do...but then again we are in concert band so...

    thank you! ; )

  • Well, I suppose this is the right speed, as it's the composer conducting. Glad you enjoyed it. :)

  • I really enjoy this piece. My school's playing this. I'm a supporting percussionist (I play marimba, Glockenspiele, bells, tubular bells etc.) and in our "version" or such, I get to go between like three of four instruments throughout this piece. But, this is missing the incredible percussion. The timpani, snares and such in this piece make it millions of times better.

  • if its the composer conducting where'd you get this at?

isn't this pretty old? especially for the brilliant quality!

  • we plan to play this fast but we only had it a week

  • Lol. I'm the first chair French horn and my part is awesome! I put a lot of feeling into it whenever I play it and my second chair is jealous of my mad horn playin skillz XD

  • Playing this song in 8th grade band. French horn part rocks.

  • I've never heard it played this fast in 70 odd years. However, if this is Holst's own interpretation of his own piece ......................

  • love this song, glad to have found it on youtube : D

  • Oh dang. Faster then we are playing it (:

  • I played this in my orchestra last year. Too fast for me. Music should never be rushed, but nice hearing the composer's interpretation.

  • I became familiar with a slower tempo ones. Never know Holst expected it to be played fast. Thanks.
