Sensei Masao Kagawa 8.dan JKS demonstrating the shifting from kokutsu-dachi to zenkutsu-dachi and back. Filming was done in Stockholm, Sweden on a seminar hosted by JKS Sweden on the 12th of September 2009.

  • Notice the CORRECT kokutsu dachi stance. Heel, knee and hip in line. 99% of karateka perform it like kiba dachi with one foot turned out. I too do this and am training hard to change. Wish I'd been shown correctly from the beginning.

  • This is great! A common mistake we make as students is having the rear leg too far back, making the weight distribution between the feet 50/50.
