I'm glad to see that Horsedriving in the U.S. isn't very different from the horsedriving i know from Germany :)

@mavivirgie Eloquent as ever I see, how does one "take a horseshit"? and would my head not be in a coffin 6 foot under!?
My dear man you must think a plan through.
Kind of looks like an accident waiting to happen, but MY LORD that driver has superb control over those animals. Well done!

Don't worry! Like any professionnal sport, this driver really knows what he's doing. The indoor setup increase the dangers, but it is all controlled.

Hi: The drivers have to go through obstacles composed of a number of gates (that's why you see them turn around) they can take in the order they want. The final purpose is to be the fastest without incurring penalties (when they touch the cones with yellow balls). In the outdoor competition, the course is very long and they have also to respect a time limit so they don't abuse the horses by going too fast. Lots of fun inside, sometimes dangerous outdoor, but always interesting!

Michael Freund won the competition last year and is invited again this year to Toronto. He has retired from international competition for the moment, but is certainly available. I do not know how to reach him directly but if you go through the German Equestrian Federation, you may be able to reach him.
