There are other tools youtube for retightening your locs. Try the Nappylocks tool...or even a crochet hook! To each her own...I tend to catch my other locks with the latch hook so I use the Nappylocks tool and sometimes the crochet hook for the ones in the front. But you can tend to overtighten with the Nappylocks tool so KNOW YOUR HAIR!!! Don't get too excited that you can get so close to your scalp! lol

They may look tight but I am glad ur using a tool. There is another mother on youtube who's daughter's are even smaller and she palm rolls them!! Her reason being bc her daughters hair is too soft 4 a latch hook but she'll latch them once they mature...

I know I'm late with this comment, hope you respond. I just started my locs w/two strand twist they are pretty much the same size as your daughters & of course people are telling me who have traditional locs that mine are too small and will thin out. My loctician will be maintaining my hair with interlocing. My question is, when you maintain the loc this way do your locs mature to the relative size you started? And can locs that have been interloced/latched be taken down later like other locs?

Beautiful, and well-maintained locs. She is your baby, and you are free to do her hair the way you wish. Locs can always be combed out. Go Mama!

you can take down any type of locked hair. it just takes time and lots of conditioner.
