  • By the way, what do you think would be a good four mallet piece at a high school level audition? Right now I have Musser's Etude in C major. It's supposed to be something that shows off ability but isn't too difficult or excessively simple. I feel like it's kind of easy though...

  • hm...I like the Musser etudes, but maybe some Abe if they're easy for you. Michi, Prisim, Cherry...

  • Nice. I dig Abe, and my band director has Frogs and Dreams of Cherry Blossoms. Which one?

(Sorry I hog up your great performances with my dumb questions)

  • hmm..Cherry is certainly the better piece, but much much harder. Check em both out. :)

  • Sir, you are the man.

I had to list my most influental artists at my GSA audition last year and I kept rattling on about how awesome you are, haha.

  • haha, cool! Thanks a lot. :)

  • I really like this piece! What mallets are u using?

  • O my god..

  • Your marimba writing is amazing. When your writing do you write while at the marimba? or do you compose then learn your own solo?

  • I hope I can play this by the time I'm a grad student...

  • Where can I buy this?

  • the stuff you come up with is always pretty wild. do you write exclusively in front of a board or do you have to sometimes figure out how to play what you wrote?

  • @Highwind67 i just noticed you posted this a year ago so it probobly wont be any use to you anymore

  • @Highwind67 dude i played etude in c for 8th grade that shit is a pain in the ass but dude play it but for an addition play somthing that shows all tecnics like yellow after the rain or fire dance

  • What are you using to record and how, the sound quality is incredible, I'd like to emulate it.

  • ADAMS MARIMBA!!!

I really like how you can produce a different timbre so easily :) you're very good and please keep on playing adams!!

  • Hey what mallets do you use? I've been looking for some good one's for a while and i was wondering if anyone can recommend any. Great work (as are all of yours). My personal favorite of yours is Pius Cheung's E minor etude because it looks so hard to play haha

  • @Highwind67 I havn't heard Frogs, but i absolutely love Dreams of cherry blossoms.

  • Well, I've got till' March, so I'll check with my other consultants. haha. Thanks for helping me out!

  • dude, you have incredible chops

  • this is an amazing piece!!! where can i get the music? Great playing i loved it!!

  • hmmm...something very articulate in the top and something soft but punchy in the bass. I used Mycka's line in the video -I like the sound, they're just really heavy. Thanks to you too! Ha ha go Naglfar!!

  • hey casey im working on this piece and im just wondering what mallets are best for this one.....thanks for the great inspiration man!!! p.s. NAGLFAR rules!!!

  • Hey, thanks so much. I do give lessons, in fact I've just been appointed at Concord University in WV. Message me, maybe we can work something out. Maybe I can even come visit your school. Later
