OCTUBAFEST, with director G.R. Davis, featured tuba and euphonium solos by faculty, students and guests, followed by the Blair Tuba-Euphonium Ensemble and the Tennessee Tech Tuba Ensemble performing a wide variety of selections from Bach to rock.
The ensembles combines in the last portion of the concert to present a tribute to native Nashville composer Alfred J. Bartles (1930-2006) who wrote a large body of excellent music, including several pieces for tuba and euphonium.
