Do you use Bituminous coal in your locomotive?

Bill uses "Welsh Coal" . He has to get his coal from a special source. I do not know where you are located but i got some similiar coal from a place in East texas.

I got an Aster C62last year that Jeff Runge is repaiing for me. I plan on using hardwood charcoal in it. A gentleman from Trinidadhas one and heusesonlycharcoal.. I found asource for SOUTH aMERICAN HARDWOOD THAT i PLAN ON USING.

Thanks for your comments. I plan on doing one for my Aster c62 in the near fture. I have been fine tuning he since as on theshelf for 30 years.

Yea, I bet real wood charcoal would work well. Its probably more readily avalible and less expensive that real coal.

Thanks, Im located in North Carolina. I've heard good things about Welsh coal but Im having trouble locating a source. Some of the black smiths near me use Bituminous coal in their forge so I thought I might get good results in my locomotive.

Wow, this is a great video! There are very few detailed step by step coal firing videos on here and even though I know how to coal fire, I still think this video was exactly what I needed when I first got my loco. I was looking for a video on this but couldn't find one. I hope this video will help other people who were in my situation. Many thanks.
