Filmed at Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music, LIVE AT BLAIR showcases the virtuosic Alison Brown Quartet on a riveting set of the group's best-loved compositions. Filmed in HD, recorded in high-end audio and featuring a guest appearance from multi-instrumentalist and David Grisman Quintet alum Joe Craven, this is the GRAMMY-award winning artist's first live DVD recording in a 15 year career that spans eight albums, countless tours, appearances on CBS Sunday Morning, NPR's All Things Considered and in the Wall Street Journal.

I remember when when I picked up Simple Pleasures at a record store in the early 90's. I had never heard of Alison Brown or Alison Krause before, but knew I liked David Grisman, and wanted to hear some banjo. What a pleasant surprise that album turned out to be. It stayed in my CD player for about a year!
Keep it up Alison!

The opening tune does seriously twang of Bela's 'Big Country'. I like the more puristic view of the instruments though. Just heard Allison on Mountain Stage on KXT.org today and had no idea she was out there doing this.
Support public radio because they are a major voice of great artists like this!

Alison and the Quartet, I listend to your concert when you were in Calgary Alberta awhile ago, honestly the most amazing thing I have ever heard. I enjoyed meeting you and John after the show, that personal contact will never be forgotten. Continued sucess , yours in admiration.

my 2 cents. You can tell she is a very intilligent person as a result.. the music is very intelligent. I like her music more all the time. I truly appreciate what Bela Fleck has done but he get too far into outer space for me sometimes. This is truly tasteful innovative music that demonstrates the capability of the banjo as a unique instrument not only bluegrass.
