"Black Ops servers are unavailable at this time" fix for PC

I kept losing connection to the host mid game on Black ops and getting messages like "error lost connection to host" or "The Call of Duty: Black Ops servers are unavailable at this time. Please try again later or visit http://www.callofduty.com/blackops/status for updates"

I finally figured out my firewall was to blame.

Open ports on your router's firewall to fix the problem. Black ops 3074 (UDP and TCP) Steam UDP: 27000-27015, 27015-27030 and TCP: 27014-27050

Guys the ports u open are mainly used to HOST A SERVER!!! It wont work for trying to not get that wierd error!!!! I actually opened them, but i used portchecker and it said they werent...

i followed your steps.. ... still not working, disapled firewall as well and restarted my computer checked and the ports are still open, nothing ...

I did open 3074 , 3478-4380 , 27000-27050 , 27000-27030 , 27014-27050 , 27000-27015 , 27015-27030 , 27014-27050 ports but I get same error. :S

help help when i play on a server for 2- 3 mins it says steam connect failed and my friends are off line no time just off line and my internets working fine and if i want to type a message for help to my fiends it say u need to log on but i am and ive restarted steam like 3 times now to no evale help... help please im so worried im not a comp guenious help.
