my 07 jeep wrangler unlimited has 6" lift and 35" tires. i plan on putting 40" tires on it, changing the gears again and all that good stuff, an put a V8 in it.

my dream is to jack up a rubicon, would i just need a lift kit and wheels or are there other things that MUST be done?

The extras that must be done depend on the height of the lift and the size of the tires that uoi want to run. Go over 4"-5" of lift and you need to change drive shafts and gears, plus plan on using adjustable control arms at all four corners - like what TeraFlex offers in their kits.
