@Blackersoul The meaning and use of the word orthodox in black metal, is used to describe either the bands classic view on antichristianity that shaped the whole genre, special sound and vibe or their deeper religious views on satanism (theistic satanism) and death. Or it can be all of those things together too, depending on which band we're talking about. To name a fiew bands, Deathspell Omega, Malign, Nefandus, Funeral Mist, Ondskapt, among many.
@Blackersoul Yes, the word can be used to describe a form of christianity, but it can be used to describe other things too, don't you know that? From Wikipedia, "The word orthodox, from Greek orthos ("right", "true", "straight") + doxa ("opinion" or "belief", related to dokein, "to think")". Since there are no christian black metal bands, the meaning of the word orthodox in black metal has nothing to do with christianity (more than obvious antichristianity).

This is an awesome swedish orthodox black metal band, but Arioch/Mortuus of Funeral Mist/Triumphator/Marduk has nothing to do with it.
