Thanks for the tip about the splitting maul. Picked one up today and worked a treat on dry logs. Looking forward to our new stove arriving later in the week. Keep up the good work!

I use a chainsaw for anything thick, and a proper splitting maul to split the wood easily. This forester axe is great for carrying in your backpack and chopping wood whilst out on the trail, but it's too light weight to split your wood for the whole year...

Thanks for your various stove/woodcutting posts. Any recommendations on axes for a stove newbie please! Lots of old seasoned timber needs chopping up in the back garden, Does the forester axe featured cope with bigger logs?

yes...the axe is razor sharp, but worth the money. used it recently to chop stuff out in the wild and it was excellent!
