Alternative Fuel Technologies, Inc. designs, develops, prototype manufactures and sells eco-friendly fuel systems for the global transportation industry. The Company's automotive prototypes are designed for diesel-powered engines that use a new alternative fuel, dimethyl ether (DME). DME is an ultra-clean, multi-purpose fuel that can be manufactured at low cost from abundant resources, including renewable materials (biomass, waste and agricultural products) and costs about 50% less than fossil fuels.
Since 2005, AFTC has demonstrated success in building DME fuel system prototypes for major auto makers, Volvo and the Ford Motor Company of Europe. In addition, AFTC has relationships with the U.S. Army and the Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER). The Company anticipates to begin full-scale production on its revolutionary, alternative fuel systems in 2011.
