  • when i add the wave modifiers nothing happens

  • If you are on frame 1 or haven't subdivided the plane nothing much will happen.

To see how wave modifiers work apply one to a default plane and Alt + A. It will bounce up and down when viewed from the side.Esc-Key to stop.

Subdivide the plane 4 times and run again in object mode. It should flap about wildly.

In the wave modifier panel change the Speed and Height values to 0.1 and the width to1.0. A wave should now pulse gently.

Change the settings on your plane until you get a nice wave.

  • can this be done in the game engine?

  • Can't see why not. It's simple animation with quick rendering and low vertex count.

  • @QJgoldfish Can you import this into the Unity 3D game Engine?

  • I don't think there is any problem importing blender models into Unity but but I don't know if the the animated textures will be retained. There are tutorials about such things on Vimeo I think.
