@sinusbradycardia The guy uses Champion GN1 race heads - fully ported, not stage 2 Buick Motor Sports heads, which ceased production in 1985 along with the 3.8 and 4.1 v6 stage blocks. With these blocks, you can get your car in the high 7's. $25k for the engine and $20k for the rest of the drive train though. I'm debating buying a stage 2 short block for $7k.
@sinusbradycardia If I ever save up the money, I will hunt down and buy a stage 2 motor and put a 70mm or 76mm turbo on it. Bruce has a stage 2 w/a 76mm turbo and won the TSO class in 2002 against Red Armstrong at GS Nationals. What makes Bruce's car special is that is has a stock trans and rear end. He drove 6 or 7 before he bought it in 87 and of course bought the fastest one and here 24 years later, with the stock trans and rear end he has a mid 9s car. His biggest problem is hooking up.
Full weight car. Damn. I have seen, never rode in though, a supposed high 7sec GN - 3600lbs w/0 driver. The who owns was offered a newer ZR-1 plus $32k for this car. The guy who owns it, his nickname is School Teacher. I don't know his real name. It was Aggressive Performance in Roseville, MI. The proprietor, Bruce Alred, said that something about the heads made it special, not being Buick Motor Sports, but Champion. Anyway, these cars are all bad ass. I have a mid 11s GN & I love it.
