The Hyogo Banshu Project is a new event that celebrates the relationship between Perth and it's Japanese sister city, Hyogo. Renowned for its textile industry, which produces fabrications for the like of Armani, Burberry and Chanel, Hyogo and Perth have been affiliated for 30 years now. To mark the anniversary, Hyogo entrepreneur Mr Ozawa came over to Perth late last year to present six graduates from fashion & textile courses across Western Australia with scholarships that entitled them to a trip to Japan to have their own textiles produced.

The graduates designs were presented at an invite only show at Studio Underground at the State Theatre Centre on Monday, September 26, 2011. This documentary speaks to the six designers involved in the inaugural trip.
