I was initially concerned when a guy who works for the .gov asks about any ammunition I may have... But, I watched your vids and I guess you are alright. It is getting to be blizzard season here and having some supplies on hand in case I lose power would pay in the long run. This sounds like an excuse to buy a generator!

By the way, elmify brought me here.

:) I'm glad I meet your approval sir! A generator is a great idea. My parents broke down and bought one a few years back. One thing to remember, make sure you keep a backup fuel supply and if you run the generator with fuel that contains ethanol, take steps so as not to gum up the carb. When ethanol sits in those small engines for awhile it tends to mess them up. Enjoy the winter season and Merry Christmas!

I have camp stove & fuel, about 4cases of Kraft Dinner and bottled water, plus 2 cases of V8 for my "natural disaster stock". No guns ( I'm in Canada), but materials to build barricades against looters.

Things would have to get pretty desperate for me to reach for a V8. :o)

No v8 for me either......and just because you live in such a fine nation with strict gun possession laws does not mean you cannot own a firearm. Try an 879 remington or any other band of 12 guage. Unless you are a felon or have an extensive record you should be clear. Firearms training would be a must. I live in Canada as well, eh?

Bananas keep longer if you set them on top of uncooked potatoes! ;)

We have used the solar garden lights inside. We have the lights that are removable from the stake, but you can stand several in a tall vase or canning jar if you have the ones that don't come apart. No fire hazard and no fuel to store. As with the candles, using a reflective surface (mirror/foil/aluminum pan) amplifies the light.
