Most of these are Bergs (MOA - motor on each axle) with a couple of Axial AX10's (Shafty - one motor in middle). With a MOA the normal way to DIG (lock one end) is to apply brakes to the motor from the ESC, most MOA's have two ESC's, one for each motor and operated with a 4 channel transmitter/receiver like a futaba 4PK/PKS/PL. The normal way to power a MOA is by 3 cell LiPo. There's a TON of people dedicating a lot of time and money on rccrawler(dot)com

im going to build one of these crawlers in around christmas time. but i dont have alot of money to spend. i have picked everything out already, gonna cost me around 850 900 dollars.

@NitroFingas by locking the back wheels, they are able to turn on a pivot point. That makes them able to turn corners.. or control the climb easier, than having the rear wheels turn! sometimes when rock crawling, you only want your wheels to turn slowly in the back.. or not at all. They also have the option to lock the front, and only use the back wheels!

@NitroFingas Lol... These are the best type of crawlers on the market.., dont get much better than these rigs. Motor n the front, motor on the back , indipnendantly controlled. All wheel drive. Most of these rigs are Enroute Bergs
