Belmont Patrol Officer Paul Cowing talks about his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan

Cowing, a combat medic, is one of two Belmont police officers being deployed with the 101st Field Artillery unit of the Massachusetts National Guard to support Operation Enduring Freedom. Cowing and Patrol Officer Ben Mailhot, a lieutenant in the Guard, began their training on Jan. 3, 2010 with a send-off in Boston.
