WHOA!!! which ever captain i use the ranging bloyster will follow me, preventing me from attacking its tail:(. but now i know how to defeat it with both captains alive thank you;).

what i did is i brought like 50 reds and for the boss i had 20 left so the only way i could hit him was (first of all i only had 1 captain) throw a pikmin as a sacrifice and then race to his bulb and murder him. i finished with 2 reds

i do it even easier, just rapidly switch from one to another in the same group, then use all purples to attack, that way its even easier.

Wow this would have made my life a LOT easier if I had known this strategy before. The only way I killed it the first time was by making it eat all of my poisons. I lost all of my 20 poisons that day

You can defeat him with just one captain, it just takes a lot longer. Have the Pikmin with you, and run around in circles until you can reach the bud on his back. Since he only attacks the captain, the Pikmin are safe no matter where they are as long as the captain isn't near the mouth, which triggers the attack.

WHAT?!?!?!?! I JUST BEAT HIM WITH ONE CAPTAIN! I LOST A SHITLOAD OF PIKMIN AND GOT REALLY FUSTRATED, AND THE ONLY WAY I COULD CARRY BACK THE TREASURE WAS BECAUSE I HAD ON PURPLE!
