White House director of new media Macon Phillips supports the use of open source software and encourages development of third-party apps based on open government data. "Open source development...represents the best of civic participation," says Macon. "It's really exciting to think that we could tap a community that has a long history of innovation."

  • This is great, to hear a top level government employee support open source.

  • What is immoral and a crime is the War on Drugs.

It is a travesty of justice that is beyond the scope of most to grasp.

variablast is quite correct. The US is in Afghan and now Columbia to control drug trade.

  • I don't see how they'd win, but they certainly are terrorists.

  • @Mastikator LOL what terrorists are you speaking of? Just curious. The CIA?

  • But if you legalize pot and cocaine then the terrorists win.

  • Ohhh .... I love the feeling of smoke up my ass

  • in the thumbnail, I thought the mic was a giant cyst or something. I was like, "holy shit!"

  • thanks for sharing your perceptions of morality.

  • This is still a microstep. What needs to be done is parliament needs to be disbanded as it's an obsolete concept and instead all decisions made by parliament should be transferred to online voting polls - watch "Us now" it's free

  • Federal and states' Treasury and taxing authorities' websites need constant streamlining and simplification. The firewalling and the transparency problems will always be with us, but they are invisible to the average user. The average user will be thwarted at every turn by each lack of simplicity and each lack of streamlining. Usually, that means thwarted to a stop. Those are customers lost or alienated. Streamline & simplity!!! Start and never stop.
