It's just wonderful to see professional athletes like Steve Nash and Sean Avery support equality for marriage, it's not just about the right to freely love each other in a relationship, but the ability to protect your loved ones in legal, financial and medical situations. I sincerely wish the best for the NY marriage equality campaign, and hope that more athletes and others can speak out for its cause. My repsect for Steve Nash has just increased exponentially.

This issue is bigger than you think. I invite you to do research on two topics: the effect of having gay parents and the theology of the body. I agree that not everyone reads and follows the Bible but I am 100% sure that those who do read and understand the Bible have a better understanding of life. There is only one God and we cannot change the rules at our convenience.

Steve is not thinking about the consequences of your words. We are all sons of God and we were created to live together and respect one another. There is one thing that people need to understand, marriage is not about having sex!. Marriage is about commitment and is the giving of yourself to the other person in an union that is free, complete, and open to life. Gay marriage (as a Sacrament) is impossible because is never open to new life.
