@Nyawu Childish bullshit it is. VF4 had some of the only female fighting game characters that weren't an utter joke and VF5 ruins it all out of desperation.

@Lioyd1rving Why would VF5 ruin the females? Changing Vanessa's hair to blonde or something doesn't take away from her moveset, which is still one of the most hard hitting female movesets ever in a fighting game. You're the one that can't see past the physical aspects and is childish.

@Relugus There's no denying DOA has a buttload of skimpy outfits, but from the looks of DOA5 it seems like they're moving away from that dolly, anime-ish appearance.

@Lioyd1rving I think though that the custom costume items are pretty much the same for both genders, which makes VF unique. The trailer was showing the customization in VF5, and the most vivid way of showing this is with female characters as women's clothing tends to be much more varied than men's. I play VF5 and love customizing both the female AND male characters, for me its an aesthetic thing.

The ladies actually get cool, stylish outfits in VF, unlike DOA where its mostly skimpy atire.

@Nyawu The costume customization is great in VF, and it applies to both males and females equally. What I love about VF5 is you can dress the ladies up in cool, badass outfits, whereas in DOA most of the costumes are unimaginative "sexy" outfits but few that are actually cool-looking. Generally, in fighting games, the guys get the "cool" costumes while the girls are left with skimpy atire and not much else. VF is the only game which treats male and female characters the same.

@UpskirtPower The DAO girls character models still look the same as they did on Dreamcast/NAOMI, making them still look like dolls, whereas the VF females look like beautiful women. They are all sexy in a way that comes from their characters. Add to that the outfits and custom items in VF5 are far more imaginative than DOA. Aoi exudes class and coolness in a way that no other female fighter does.

Monty Oum's remodelling of Hitomi shows what could be done with the DOA characters.

but well, as a guy i won't deny the good parts of doa....but it paled in comparison to the game series.

i like vf5 girls better than doa girls cuz vf5 graphic is more detailed making the girls look more personality. doa4 graphic is smooth but low detail making the girls nothing but big tits but less personality.

@Nyawu The girls in DOA also have competent movesets -- yet they aren't nearly as credible as the men. The gratuitousness, heavy-handedness and pointlessness of the sex appeal is where my beef is. In VF4, men and women fought as equals. There were no "catfights"; every fight was a fight, period. By comparison, VF5 seems to go out of its way to strip the girls of their credibility, as if apologizing for letting them leave their "rightful" place of T&A purveyors.
