Pakistan 12: Anarkali Bazaar

First a few words about the wedding: I've never been to anything like that in my life, there were so many people, so nice outfits, such good music... so much fun!

So, now out in Lahore to Anarkali Bazaar!
(The girl with the shawl at the very beginning is my sister, not me.)

Do the girls in Pakistan wear shorts/skirts/jeans or other modern clothing?I see you guys wear salwar kurta,

We were there in 2006/2007 and most girls I saw were wearing shalwar kameez. I did it mostly cause I think it looks cool and I like adopting the clothing of the country I go to, but the first day when we hadn't bought any yet we wore jeans and shirt.

I don't think shorts or short skirts are worn though. If you want to get more info you can post the question on my facebook Yaiyasmin, there are a lot of pakistanis there and they could probably tell you.

@Lubbcookie You won't find any girl or women on street wearing shorts.They do wear jeans and long skirts though and they are quite common nowadays. Jeans with traditional kurta or a t shirt is one of the favorites attire of young girls. You would see models on the ramp with shorts and minis but that's just on the ramp to promote local designer internationally

@Lubbcookie jeans outisde....i didnt really see i only went to anarkali and some bazaars we were busy with weddings and didnt have time to like u no tour around..but i think probably shopping places with universityies/colleges near by you might see some modernized but still paki clothes. i only went for a month so im not sure but i can ask my cousin and get back to you if you want. im not sure bout india but i think that they probably more skin showing witht heir clothes..i.e sleevless,backless

So basically the fashion in pakistan is more about salwar kameez and less about modern clothing.Also would you know about the fashion in india? i would like to take some quotes.thanks

@Lubbcookie in 2012 most of the girl wear salwar kurta but jeans is also become the part of dressing ... still no shorts or skirts

@Lubbcookie i went to pakistan,lahore 2 years ago and in the part we went,anarkali many ladies were covered in scarves and burkas/jilbabs...i remember my mom telling me pakistan had become very 'mod' and fashionable so i asked my mom whats up and she said the places where 'liberty' shopping place is ,its more 'mod' ppl and young college girls and stuff probably wear jeans under their kameez..but thats probably it as far as modern clothing goes...ask if u got Qs! im full paki:P
