In this video I compare the two most popular dock applications for Windows XP/Vista/7 and give my opinion on which one you should use and why.
RocketDock.

ObjectDock

Windows 7 users shouldn't need to use a Dock as Windows 7 was designed to stop people having to download a dock application for Windows, but they are compatible in case you want to use them.
I am fully aware that there are other dock applications out there, but most of them are full of bugs/glitches and crash issues. RocketDock and ObjectDock are the best of the bunch in my opinion.
If your looking to customize either dock then you'll want to head over to the deviant art sections below.

Like I said before both docks don't have the full functionality on 64bit versions of Windows, in simple terms that means some of the docklets/themes may not work fully on 64bit.
really, who the fuck want to know how to download a programm? just show what it does and case closed!

@rhuanri True, but in all fairness there are people who don't know how to download a program/application.
