This film was inspired by (if I remember correctly) a story told to Lynch by his ex-wife about her friend's daughter's nightmare, in which she frantically and fearfully recited the ABC's. Now if only we could figure out the rest of his works! Particularly, "Rabbits", in my opinion. Rabbits has got to be one of the most frightening things I've ever watched... And I don't even know why.
Their silence is very ominous.
