  • they aren't cadets they were campers i run with this company and every year in july we do a firefighter camp they get old used gear that we have laying around and that other companies donate they dont have boots because nobody can give us enough for each camper

  • right to fight damn probies..

  • Theyre obviously training. U can tell by the gear.

  • @jonny99981 Look at coats and pants, they can fit normal firefighters and if they're like anyone in my department they use old gear that's been retired from our firefighters. I doubt there are any size 3-8 boots to fit young teens.

  • @Viatox But Still, if they are cadets they should have full PPE. If they have bunker gear and a helmet why no boots

  • @jonny99981 There would obviously be some sort of liability contract signed to be with the cadet program. Plus this doesn't even look like it's a full inch 3/4 line. I think they'll be fine. Too many concerns now-a-days.

  • @Viatox Ok.. So what if a kid dropped the hose which is charged on there foot, the parents might su the Fire department and might of had to pay out.

  • @jonny99981 I could sit here and argue, but with a propane fire like the one they were using I don't see it being a huge issue where they're wearing trainers. It could easily be just a fun little day camp for a kid for the hour or something.

  • @Viatox Yeah well so am i. They should full PPE if they are dealing with real fire and high pressure hoses i think they should atleast have steal toecaped boots not trainers..

  • @jonny99981 Yes, I am a firefighter actually. Thanks for asking.

Cadets have no use for full PPE (Personal protective equipment) as they are not permitted into hostile, uncontrolled environments. Thus meaning trainers and older gear is fine for them.
