@myersderrick there is a selectable 1st and 2nd correct? May sound stupid, but I would honostly use that. A motor like that must have some tall gear in it, you could have done most of the race just using it. Cornor in, get below 40 and put it in 1st. Then that lard would want to react.

in retrospect, an automatic crown victoria may have not have been the best choice for a racecar. Hardly the least appropriate vehical on the road however. How did you guys do?

Nice to hear some V8 roar amidst the 4 cyl buzzing :)
By the looks of it the course is very tight, not much space to let that 4.6 do its thing. How did the vic do in terms of breakdowns? I know the P71s have all those coolers for everything (tranny, oil, PS), and the suspension is made to take a beating.

There was not a single breakdown other than flat tires and a rear break caliper frozen.

gotta work on throttle control. gradually press on gas as coming out of turn then when completely exited continue to full throttle

We would have, but given the sluggish nature of the auto tranny, getting into a lower gear provided more forward momentum to overcome cars out of that corner, despite the extra wheel spin.
