@Charbax Well, they aren't Apple. Apple paved the way with their iPod and Macs so now the iPhone pretty much sells on the back of their earlier success. I'mWatch is really trying to ride on that coat tails but I think they are smart to try and price themselves amongst the premium brands. Half day use is pretty dire. If Apple wanted, they can make one out of the Nano and just virtually bankrupt this company at their whim.
-
@Mjauv They don't need to set the price down if there aren't any competitors. Apple sells the iPhone for $650 and millions of people are paying ridiculous $3000 for a 2-year iPhone contract and yet the iPhone has plenty of cheaper/better Android competition, this company has no need to put the price down if they don't want to.
-
@ShelbyGT34 That's completely ridiculous. Android Bluetooth functionality brings contacts/caller-ID/sms/email-t
itles/rss-alerts/alarms/calend ar-alerts/IM/VOIP and unlimited app functionalities right onto your wrist. Something you can never do with an iPod Nano/Shuffle. -
@Charbax LunaTik has an iPod Shuffle in it, so its better
-
@Charbax Useless as a watch? Why? the I'm watch only has android 1.6 so it's not exactly cutting edge. For the price of a I'm watch I can get a ipod nano, a LunaTik and still have money over to buy a matching shirt. Perhaps the I'm watch-company needs to change manufacturer if they can't get the price down on this thing.

@Mjauv The Android wrist watches are not slow at all. This one was one of only 3 prototypes they had made at that time. Mass produced screens are more reliable than hand-assembled prototypes
-
@Mjauv Don't forget the ipod nano price. Using an ipod nano as a watch is useless. Android makes the whole difference. This one may be priced high, but the company doesn't want to loose money.
-
@Charbax No, but a LunaTik is only 39 $ and a lot more fashionable.
The I'm Watch is cool in theory but it's too expensive, too slow (just take a look when they navigate it) and quite ugly too.
Back in the day, people had to pull their time piece out of their pocket to check the time. Then they made them smaller and strapped them to people's wrist. Then cellphones came around people reverted to pulling their time pieces out of their pockets.
It's only natural that we once again strap the time piece to our wrists.
We're coming full circle.

Its a pretty cool concept, but at those prices I don't see it being a huge seller. People are already dropping 200-400 on a high-end smart phone. Why would they pay another 300 for what basically amounts to a fancy remote control for their existing phone?
