This web page demonstrates an example of bio-controlled sound generation. This demonstration relied on three bio-sensors designed by the Biogene company, i.e. an electrocardiogram, a belt respiration sensor and a temperature-based respiration sensor. Three sound synthesis/digital audio effects modules, implemented within the Max/MSP environment and driven by each kind of biosignals, have been tuned in a way to product three distinguishable audio tracks.

This work was carried out within the Numediart research programme on Digital Media Arts funded by Region Wallonne, Belgium. It also results in a collaboration with the french network Réseau Arts Numériques, and especially with Dr. Loic Kessous (LIMSI, Univ. Paris VI) for the implementation of the sound processing modules.
