  • Thanks so much for this video!

  • No Problem. Thanks for watching.

  • perfect execution

  • Thanks for the nice comment. we don't always get to time the attack with the ventilation that way but when it does happen it is a beautiful thing to see. Take care out there.

  • Thanks. Yea those guys have their sh** together. We were having trouble a few years back with our SCBA policy of masking up when working over a fire. Lots of people felt that it would slow us down. Just goes to show you, that it can still be done quickly and safely.

  • Wow. Close call for those roof guys when it flashed over and emerged out of the attic-space. Great job not panicking and getting the job done. Spot-on job by the engine crew knocking down the fire with a quick blast from the outside, giving the truck co. time to get their job done. Love your videos, Chief. Keep 'em coming!

  • These are great videos,... thank you. I just wish there were more of them!!!

  • Command did a GREAT job on this fire.

  • Keep um coming!!!

  • I have watched quite a few of your videos. I am a professional firefighter in West Virginia. I must say that your radio communication is beautiful and that is the problem. In this video the first engine was on scene nearly 7 minutes before the first hand line was pulled. 9 minutes before the primary search, forget it at that point, anyone in there is dead. The job is to fight fire not stand around and wait for it to run out of fuel. Thumbs up on communication but talk less and fight more fire.

  • Because of a limited perspective within the video, can you clarify a couple of things?

    -Roof was joist and rafters?

-Why not take the attack line through the front door immediately, with coordinated/communicated horizontal vent using PPV?

-Why not send the first truck in at that moment for primary search, pulling ceiling as they go?

-After which, or simultaneously, two members could access the roof and vent.

  • I'm curious as to the lack of accountabilty for potential civilain victims. Was there a report that there were no occupants in the residence? I specifically question the lack of a rapid primary search. mtf...

  • 1970 average flashover time after arrival 14 min. 2005 5 min. As a First in Officer there are a few things I need to know, now. !: Are there any occupants? Get out ask and look around. 2: What is the location of the fire and where is it going? Is it an attic fire that started in the basement? 3: Is the interior survivable? What burns in an attic rafters, trusses? Vent differently. Use PPV. 18 degree drop = 50% drop in combustability. Attack unburnt to burnt.

  • Despite what some of the monday morning quarterbacks here say, I think the IC (who seems to be the fella in all the Command Post videos) is calm, cool and collective. Some may say it is a dumpster with a roof...but how do you know there is not life safety issue without doing a good primary and secondary seach. To the guy posting these videos....I have so much respect for you as an officer and IC....you are one calm, collective and cool cat...Good Job to you and your firefighters.

  • jott1717. Solid Command and Control saves FF lives. Kudos to the IC for coordinating all crews, operations, and hazards on this. It would be tragic to hurt or kill someone over "a dumpster with a roof." Gotta keep in mind that the IC has much more to address than how fast water gets on the fire.
