Our hearts are with you, Japan! I originally wrote this song when the tsunami disaster hit Indonesia in 2004. I later dedicated it also to the Hurricane Katrina and Haiti victims. Now I'm dedicating it to you, Japan. You have always had a special place in my heart and you surely have a special place in God's heart. May His strength, love, and compassion comfort you, rebuild and revive you. May you rest in His salvation. Love, hannah

Thank you to the many photographers that shared these images with the world.

"Mercy" lyrics:
V.1
Break my heart, oh God, right now
With your Spirit's loving power
Reduce me, till I am only love
For the least of these I pray
The lost, the broken, and afraid
Please, reveal to them your love

Chorus
Mercy, I cry mercy, Lord
Mercy, I pray, mercy
And salvation for them now
And for all their eternities
May they know you as their God
And worship you as their King

V.2
With your strong arm rescue them
In gentleness reassure them
That they can trust in you
Be their living water
Their bread of life, the light of their world
Every good thing comes from you

Bridge:
Your compassion and love shine so brightly
May we hope and believe
Would you draw them, rebuild, and revive them
And as you do, may they see

End:
Mercy, I cry mercy Lord
Mercy, I plead mercy Lord
Mercy, I cry mercy, Lord
Mercy, I plead mercy.

  • in japan only 0.1 more or less are christians, donate money, they always do that to help others!!

praying doesnt help anyone, history proves it

  • @bobbypatz

Hi Bobby- There are website links at the end of the video for some of the top charity organizations that give the highest percentages of donated money to the cause. Maybe you didn't see that. Everyone I know is both giving and praying. Faith without works is dead, but works without faith is totally missing out! I disagree with your statement that prayer doesn't work. Prayer is powerful and will comfort them, hug them and bring forth miracles in their lives.

  • Ask some of us who have had miracles in our lives...The best I can do for u, bobbypatz is pray that you get a chance to see the power of prayer in your own life and recognize it. This heartfelt song is a wonderful prayer. Sometimes the answer to a prayer is not what WE think it ought to be, but one that will achieve a greater end. God is not a celestial butler. Great old Yiddish saying: "Man plans, God laughs."
