Just curious, what shmups do you play now (if you still play)?

I can't play as much as I'd like to. I've never been that hardcore of a shmup player anyway. I've only played old ones from the 8/16-bit era, and those on the Dreamcast and a couple on the PS1. So recently, I was playing a lot of GigaWing, close to 1cc then got sidetracked and haven't gotten back to it in awhile. I want to also eventually get back to GigaWing2, MarsMatrix, BorderDown, Trizeal, UnderDefeat... I don't want to buy any more systems so that's likely all I'll have for a long time.

When you started playing this game, did you just practice, practice, practice or were you naturally this good?

I can barely make it to the end on easy with one continue. Pathetic really n_n.

I did a lot of practicing. I'm certainly not naturally good at shmups. Ikaruga is the only one I can say I got genuinely good at, and even then it was only on chapters 1&2 that I was really good. Was very average in 3 & 4, and pretty blah in 5. Now it's been so long that if I tried playing again, I'd probably suck in them all.

@ChrisH2049 Under Defeat is a masterpiece but it is VERY easy. I think someone with your style could really kick ass at Mars Matrix. Great vid btw

you have to be cheating or something i saw that video and you hit loads of other things with out dying especially on the boss when the door closes on you and you have to shoot to open it again it closed on you and you didnt die.
